In my spare time, I enjoy playing football and some would say, in another life, I would be a professional goalkeeper!

Gastroenterology is a fascinating and diverse specialty. I enjoy the complex problem solving and MDT working. Additionally, there are endless research opportunities and it is wonderful to see the direct benefits this can have on patient care. Endoscopy is an added bonus!

Why gastro?

Any sub-specialty interests?
I have a sub-specialty interest in IBD. It is an exciting field to be involved in given the rapidly expanding evidence base and the development of new drugs targeting novel cellular pathways. I am particularly interested in how the microbiome is implicated in IBD pathogenesis.
What is an interesting fact about yourself?
I am a gym bunny! Don’t be fooled - I enjoy lifting heavy weights - more than you would expect for my size!

Maybe fate given my name?! Haha. But seriously I love the variety, diversity and procedural aspect! It's one of the few specialties where you can be a specialist and excellent at GIM at the same time! :)

I spend an inordinate amount of time pontificating whilst walking my dog, and insist on taking him with me to as many social occasions as possible.

I have a keen interest in addressing and tackling health inequalities. On a more personal level, I really enjoy interior design, and always keen to see people’s home projects for inspo and add to an ever growing Pinterest board of rugs, Etsy wardrobe handles and unconventional lampshades!
